I started in the industry in 1988, working for a local independent agent, where Christian Miles was my manager at the time. I made the move over to Miles & Barr and have been enjoying working here since.

There are many things I like about working for Miles & Barr, but one of the reasons is that the company is innovative and forward thinking, always keeping one step ahead of the marketplace. I also like that we are independent, the structure of everything is excellent and the owners of the company are hands on and have worked through every level of estate agency, so they have experience in how everything works.

In my spare time I am a very keen cyclist, I like DIY, playing badminton twice a week and love motor sport, particularly F1. I like to spend as much time as possible with my family as I have three boys.

I started working in estate agency back in 2005 when I joined Miles & Barr as a trainee. At the time I had a few friends already in the industry who I had spoken to and the discussed what the role entailed and recommended I give it a go. Initially, I didn't see myself doing this for the rest of my life, I felt it more of a stop gap but I was really enjoying it after just a few weeks in the job.

I like the fact that I work for the market leading agent in the area. As a company they always like to promote from within wherever possible, three of the current directors started off as trainee negotiators at Miles & Barr, which is great to see for new staff who are looking to join. The company also really looks after the staff, running competitions with prizes ranging from vouchers, city breaks or even a trip to Orlando.

I have a young family, so when time allows you may find me on the golf course or watching my beloved Manchester United. I also love to spend time in The New Forest with my family and dogs, we usually get there a couple of times a year.

Growing up I was always interested in architecture and houses and before estate agency I worked in customer service. I felt that Miles & Barr offered the ideal opening to bring the two together.

I've been working in the lettings industry since 2002 having been approached by Christian Miles and Stuart Barr, they had recently acquired an Estate Agency which had a property management portfolio and asked me to run the lettings company as Director of Lettings. We began operating out of Herne Bay for around 18 months and then by January 2004 we opened our lettings department in Ramsgate. At that time we managed 150 properties, with the growth of the buy-to-let market and the Miles & Brand I am proud to say that we now manage 2,000 properties.

Miles & Barr are a member of ARLA (Association of Residential Letting Agents) and in 2014 I passed my exams to achieve the Level Four in ARLA Level Four one of only around 100 people who have this qualification throughout the UK. The qualification is important for me as it means that landlords and tenants can be sure they are getting advice and information from someone who is very versed in all areas of the Lettings business. One of my senior colleagues has also achieved this level with many others achieving Level Three.

Writing and delivering training for our new starters in the lettings is something I take great pride in, it is important for all of our staff to be at a good a understanding of the industry. We make sure all of our staff are proactive and market driven, with a clear customer focus, having all these qualities ensures the level of customer service they provide is second to none. This is one of the main things I love about working with and heading up the Miles & Barr lettings team, our professionalism is key and it's great to see our staff portray these values.

In my spare time I'm a family man who enjoys golf. I have three children who keep me busy with their own activities.
