Miles & Barr Covid-19 Operational Guidelines

Our Covid-19 operational guidelines follow the government's regulations for operating whilst Covid is prevalent in society. We have and will continue to prioritise and protect the wellbeing and safety of our clients and employees.

Our approach to conducting business under Covid-19 has always placed the safety of our customers, clients and staff at the heart of what we do. We, therefore, ask that you book a timed appointment if planning to visit one of our offices and you are required to wear a face covering, unless medically exempt. A proportion of our offices have remained open to ensure we provide you with the service expected from a property group and if you would like to visit one of them, we request you book an appointment before doing so. We have hand sanitiser provision on-site and ask that you kindly use it as you enter and depart.

Appointments at properties are available with our staff observing government and company guidelines and we also ask that clients follow social distancing and hygiene measures. We will explain our protocols at the time of booking a viewing or valuation and will ask that you kindly follow these.

In line with the government’s regulation, we have a number of our team working remotely with certain offices remaining open to provide you with continued estate agency and lettings customer services. Our risk assessments, contingency plans and protocols are well thought through, our staff are trained, and our IT and communications systems are designed to be flexible to meet the latest guidelines.

As always, we are here to help and provide advice.

We are confident that our experience and professionalism will help you make the move you seek.

Visiting our offices.

Our branches are open and we encourage you to arrange an appointment before meeting with a member of our team. Please wear a face covering when entering and inside our offices and we have screens in place for extra protection when seated and speaking with a colleague. Every team member in the branch you visit will also be wearing a face covering and we have hand sanitiser provision, which we ask that you kindly use.

I would like to view a property for sale or for rent, how will this work?

Many of our properties are now available with online/video viewings, however, if you have narrowed down your search to a couple of properties that you would really like to view in person and you are in a strong position to proceed then we can arrange a viewing within the following guidelines:

If it is your property that is being viewed:

  • Everyone entering your home will wear a face covering.
  • Please make us aware if anyone in your household shows symptoms, has tested positive for Covid-19 or have been asked to self-isolate following contact with track and trace.
  • Where possible, please clean and sanitise surfaces such as bannisters, door handles, light switches prior to the appointment.
  • We suggest opening internal doors throughout the property to reduce the need for surface contact.
  • If possible, please open windows to ventilate the property before the visit - weather permitting!
  • On arrival, we will sanitise our hands, as well as asking those viewing your home to apply sanitiser as well

If you are viewing a property:

  • Please make us aware if anyone in your household shows symptoms or is tested positive for Covid-19, or have been asked to self-isolate following contact with track and trace.
  • You are required to wear a face-covering when inside a property and please bring appropriate PPE with you.
  • We suggest that the number of people viewing a property is kept to those within your household.
  • We will seek to maintain social distancing during the viewing.
  • If we are accompanying you to the viewing, we will meet you outside the property before entering and if we enter the property with you, we too will wear a face covering.
  • We ask that you apply hand sanitiser before entering the property and again when you leave.
  • Where possible, please try to minimise contact with surfaces as much as possible during the visit.
