A brief history of Gravesend

Gravesend is around 20 miles outside of central London and has a population nearing 70,000 people. An airport was located on the east of the town from 1932-1956 and in The Second World War it became a Royal Air Force fighter station. The town was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe.
