Something for the weekend: Dover, Whitstable & Faversham all featured

Stuck for ideas for where to go this weekend? There is always plenty to see and do in our towns so here are our top five picks...

Dover – White Cliffs

The views out to see from the White Cliffs of Dover are spectacular. There are plenty of trails to walk along the clifftops, which make for a great spot for the family. There is some sunshine forecast on Saturday, but rain for Sunday. Views over the channel may be patchy considering the cloud but if you're looking for a brisk stomp and want to get some exercise, this could be something for you, though we'd recomment wrapping up warm!

Faversham – Creek

Faversham's famous Creek offers many walking routes and there are plenty of highly regarded places in the town to grab a drink or a bite to eat too. The weather is looking better for Saturday than Sunday but the town does also offer places undercover like the brewery tour, there are still a few slots left to book for the weekend if you fancy it!

Whitstable – Harbour & Seaside

An ideal place to take the camera! Whitstable harbour is a glorious spot to sit and watch the world go by and the forecast for Saturday is highs of 14 degrees. You're spoilt for choice when it comes to pubs and restaurants on the front or in the town and if you are in the mood for a walk you can follow the coastline in either direction.

Canterbury – History, Retail & Coffee

There always seems to be a never ending list of things to do in Canterbury. There is history in abundance, retail therapy and it's a superb city to visit for eats and drinks. If you're stuck for ideas for Sunday when the weather is unfavourable then give the city a visit as you can easily swerve the rain!

Thanet – Coastal Trail

The coastal trails across Thanet are always popular whatever the weather. You can choose to drive to any of the towns and strech your legs or get on your bike and tackle one of many routes ranging in difficulty. Cafe culture is rife so there are many places to stop off for a drink along the way.
