It is refreshing and exciting to see what Miles & Barr have done with their new website and the
technology in their offices. Rather than get caught up in all the ‘interesting innovations’ currently in the
market place, their philosophy is clear: does what we are doing benefit our customer and community?
The answer on all accounts is emphatically “yes”. Navigation, information and presentation are
designed to be engaging and all about the task of buying, selling and renting. This, supported with
the marketing campaigns available online, creates a user-friendly experience that, most importantly, is
highly visited. Users can access all relevant services offered by Miles & Barr without feeling that the site
is there to sell extra products and the property presentation on the site is the clearest in the category -
their downloadable property pack a great example of how to bridge the “digital divide” with customers.
Although there are exciting technologies available that haven’t been utilised, the Miles & Barr team have
clearly evaluated what will give them an advantage over their competitors AND be important to their
customers at the same time. By being leading edge in terms of technology, creating an I.T. literate, but
not dependent, team and keeping in line with current and future customer needs, Miles & Barr have
