I have been working in estate agency since 1996, having somewhat stumbled into the industry by serving Christian Miles in a restaurant where I worked as a waiter, while studying for my A-levels and subsequently got offered a job to start my career at Woolwich Property Services in Ramsgate. I'm still not sure if it was down to the quality of service or the food that got me the job!

In January 2000, one year on from the launch of Miles & Barr, I rejoined with Christian & Stuart to help open the new Cliftonville branch which followed the success of the Ramsgate offices' first year. I worked in Cliftonville for a number of years, progressing to the role of branch manager and from there found a key role in the opening of new branches in Ashford, Deal and Herne Bay.

Having become a director for the business in 2013, I am now predominantly based at our head office in Sandwich, where my role combines the management of the Miles & Barr contact team, writing and delivering company training, running the conveyancing services team and writing/designing company marketing material.

I've been part of the journey for such a long time and seen the development of the business over the years and the one thing that makes it so special in my opinion is the people who work here. Without them we wouldn't have the business we do. The family feel to the company is what I believe sets us apart, as everyone tries to share the same values that have been instilled from day one, with close knit teams that really care about the business, each other and our clients.

Outside of work I am an avid football fan, with sport in general being my biggest passion. With my football playing days now behind me, I like to play golf and am a member at my local course, North Foreland. I also enjoy spending my spare time with my close friends and family.

Since finishing university in 1999 and following a short period in the city, I have worked for Miles & Barr. I have held several roles in the company, starting out as a trainee I quickly found myself moving through the ranks up to my current position as a director. Going through various roles gave me solid grounding in not only all things Miles & Barr but everything you would expect from market leading estate agency.

In more recent years I have played integral roles in all aspects of the business, including technology provisions, business planning and implementation, franchising and accounting.

Predominately, my day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the output from our Deal, Dover and Folkestone branches. I conduct induction training and contribute towards overall business planning, strategy and marketing within the company. I've headed up and played a fundamental role in the development and design of the new Miles & Barr website.

My hobbies and interests are family orientated with my wife and children. We love holidaying together, discovering new places, show jumping and three-day eventing. I love sport in general, football, golf, formula one, skiing and diving.

Having completed my A-Levels and deciding University wasn't the path I wished to follow, I embarked upon my Estate Agency career in 2003, joining the Herne Bay branch of Miles & Barr as a trainee negotiator. Within a couple of years I had progressed through to become the branch manager of the Herne Bay office leading the team to Miles & Barr's Branch of the Year in both 2006 and 2007.

In 2010 I was given the opportunity to purchase a Miles & Barr franchise and I opened my own Miles & Barr office in Canterbury, building the business from scratch with just three other members of staff. Within a short period of time we were recognised as the top selling agent in the Canterbury market and in 2015 we moved to our superb new office which now accommodates 14 members of staff.

At the time of moving into the new office I was given the opportunity to become a Director of Miles & Barr so I now oversee our offices in Canterbury, Faversham, Herne Bay & Whitstable, ensuring that the offices are performing to the best of their abilities whilst making sure they working the Miles & Barr way. I'm also involved in some of our Land & New Homes projects, as well as being an integral part of the design and build of our new Miles & Barr website.

Outside of work, I am a keen football fan and still find time to play on a weekly basis whilst also following my favourite team. I also enjoy spending time with my family, taking our dog for walks either along the seafront at Tankerton or into Blean Woods, and socialising with friends.
